Tree Form

Tree - Being Placed

TREE FORM is a piece I painted on repurposed canvas – reflective foam board – that I found left over from a photo shoot one afternoon near my studio. Smooth on the reflective side, solid, and lightweight. Two came back to my studio with me. This piece is painted on one of them.

TREE FORM is both windswept and solid. Nature is present. Life is active.

It’s background includes clouds, stars, a pyramid with a figure/flame atop, and five cypress. I have often included pyramids and five cypress trees in my artwork. Sorta two different worlds of formative history.

Three pieces in all made the drive from my studio to their new home on the Upper West Side.

SQUARE is visible at the top of a curving standing library of CDs. It’s a great chunk of driftwood I found that I painted using acrylics and mixed medium. 2005.
